We have recently chosen a date and place for our poetry performance- November 19th at the Farmington Public Library.

Kelly and I will be performing the poem I’m Gonna Tell by Rosalie Sorrels

We are excited about this and have been working on different ways to make it unique, entertaining and fun.

So, last Wednesday we preformed at the public Library in front of a small group of middle school students. The preformance was GREAT and I think very entertaining for the young viewers. When we first arrived at the library I was nervous and felt a little overwhelmed. Once we started practicing, I felt some relief and was more excited then I was nervous. We opened the show with two great poems that were written by young people that were the relative age of the audiance. I thought this was a fantasic idea because it not only was relatable to the students in the audiance, but could have also been a great source of insiration for them to write poetry themselves. After the introduction poems, Kelly and I preformed our "I'm Gonna Tell" poem. It was fun being able to get up and act dramatic. We both remembered our lines perfectly for the most part and did a great job  of inprovising what we didn't (if I do say so myself)! Then we were lucky enough to watch the others preform their poems. It was great to watch, and I thought it was entertaining for all ages. I did notice however that he audiance was a little rough! I know that deep down they loved it whether they wanted to let their expressions show it or not! After we all did our small group performances, we came together in a large group and recited the James and the Giant Peach poem. This was absolutely splendid! It was so great to hear everyone say thier lines at the right time and I also loved hearing the improve that came! It was quite comical and made for a great show! Then of course came the candy, which the students liked very much. It was a great show and I am happy to have been a part of it.
